International yoga day was celebrated in Don Bosco College of Agriculture (DBCA), Sagayathottam on 18.06.2022 at 10.30 am in DBCA Auditorium. The day marked the peaceful beginning with yoga invocation sang and meditation.
Mr. Punithkumar, Club Secretary welcome the gathering Dr. K.Sekar, the Principal, DBCA, Sagayathottam in the presidential address remarked that yoga is doubly important for student volunteers. Since they have prime responsibility of feeding the nation and should keep themselves fit always. Yoga is scientific and has been carried once ancient system of Gurukulam education though in on improved still exists and practicing yoga will help the students to concentrate in their studies and advance in their career of choice. And also he shared his own experience regarding yoga practice with the student volunteers.
Rev. Fr. Dr. A. Mariya Soosai, Secretary, DBCA, Sagayathottam, in his felicitation address remarked that India holds a legendary history in world culture by initiating the International Yoga day for which every India shall feel proud of students will become both physically and mentally strong by doing yoga. Not only on a curriculam, but they should practice it throughout their life. He also explained about various asana and its scientific effect. He motivated the students to practice yoga in a daily routine life.
Mr. Pichandi, Yoga Guru, DBCA, Mrs. Kalaivani, yoga coordinator, DBCA demonstrated the different yoga asana, different practices which were framed by Vedhathri Maharisi, Arivu thinikovil, were demonstrated. There were demonstrations of standing, sitting postures and Asana like Pada Hasatasana, Eka Pada Asana, Utkatasana, Vrikshasana and eye exercises by the volunteers.
Mr. Vigesh, Final year student, DBCA, proposed a formal vote of thanks. Physical Directors, Assistant proffers, NSS program officers and students volunteers are participated.
